Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

As the first Hyatt Centric branded property in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is a vibrant lifestyle hotel, located in the heart of Kota Kinabalu – the gateway to the state of Sabah in Borneo, East Malaysia.

Putting savvy explorers in the middle of the action, close to major sights and attractions and the latest hot spots in and around this laidback coastal city, it is an ideal launchpad for curious minded travellers to explore a vibrant mix of old and new. The hotel’s energetic feel is also reflected in the hotel team, with their bubbly and lively personalities complementing their knowledge of the locale to enhance guests’ experiences and adventures in the Land Below the Wind.

Designed by Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma, the hotel building uses the metaphor of a tree to describe its different spaces: from the open lobby with green bamboo, representing the space at the roots of the tree, to the hotel room floors that represent the tree trunk and its vertical lined pattern, to the rooftop area that serves as the crown of the tree, again featuring rich greenery but also stunning views of lush hills on one side and aqua waters of the South China Sea on the other. The hotel has been awarded the Silver Certification by GreenRE, Malaysia’s leading green building certification body, for its commitment to green building excellence. Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is dedicated to consistently enhancing its environmental performance to promote responsible tourism that benefits both people and the planet.

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu features 222 spacious rooms and suites with floor to ceiling windows and private balcony overlooking the bustling city, verdant hills or blue sea. Situated at the crown of the hotel is a double-edged infinity rooftop swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, a duplex dining destination ON22 Restaurant and ON23 Sky Bar with breathtaking sunset views, and a 24-hour fitness centre. Apart from its aesthetic spaces, it is also the perfect starting point in the heart of the city to discover Insta-worthy spots in the neighbourhood.

Eat and dine at the ultimate food hub of Gaya Street, with choices ranging from local classic Kota Kinabalu street food to fresh seafood. Enjoy the ageless heritage that the city has to offer and witness first-hand how locals embrace life through culinary, art, and culture.
